The work of Bárbara Gutiérrez deals with the boundries of symbol-meaning, fiction and reality, is always looking for the communicative function of art, its social aspects, and also the use of it. Great Fear is an installation work made to advertise art. One could call it simply art advertising. The place of the real is taken by fiction, fake is the real. Meanings are being lost and words are empty. How could ever peace mean war? In mixing different forms of laguages with different layers of meanings this work attempts to approach the fictionalization of real in the art show bussiness.
