LOCAL SIGNALS
Alcuin Ai + Satoko Kako

Dauer der Ausstellung 24. 02- 10.03.2006

Unsere Arbeiten entstammen aus unseren gemeinsamen Beobachtungen Tokyos, die räumlichen Eigenschaften der Stadt, die Beziehung zwischen Stadt und Bewohnern;

english:

Our work stems from our mutual observations of Tokyo, its architectural and spatial properties, and the relationship between the city and its inhabitants;

Tokyo's urban landscape with its persistent oversupply of information and population in seemingly non-stop motion contrasts with the comparatively slower vertical growth of its buildings and the infrastructure that service them. Buildings are connected on a variety of levels, visible and invisible, overground and underground, electrically and materially but people exist in the city as though in a disconnected state.

These presented works are expressing our different perceptions of this interdependence, of the signals between people and built environment they inhabit.
